Privacy Policy

I’m Clare Jayne and I own this website and run an e-mail newsletter. In line with the new data protection regulation (GDPR) I wanted to let you know you about the data stored by my website and mailing list provider.

Website

My website, clarejayne.com, collects non-identifiable information, such as the number of visitors each day, for the purpose of letting me understand how people use my site and what posts are the most popular.

People can choose to leave comments about posts, providing such information as their e-mail address, name and website. E-mail addresses are never shown but the person’s name and website, if they choose to list one, will be shared on the website with their comments.

If I run a giveaway, people may choose to enter it and provide information such as their name and e-mail address. This will be used only for the official purpose of the giveaway.

My website also uses cookies, which track visitors. People who don’t want cookies put on their computers can set their browsers to refuse cookies, but this means that some features of the site may not work properly.

None of the data listed above will be shared by me to anyone else unless ordered to do so by government request or court order.

Newsletter

My e-mail newsletter is sent using Mailchimp. If people join this list Mailchimp will collect data, such as subscribers’ names and e-mail addresses, and store it on their secure website as per their Privacy Policy. I, Clare Jayne, use this information to send people e-mails about my writing and will never share it with anyone else. Subscribers may amend their personal data or unsubscribe at any time using the links at the bottom of each newsletter e-mail. This will not delete the data stored so, if you wish your personal data to be deleted, or have any questions contact me at clare.jayne@clarejayne.com.

Affiliated Social Links

I also have pages that people may choose to follow at Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Goodreads and Amazon. All these companies have their own privacy policies that people can read to check how their data is collected, stored and used. Queries about these policies can be made to these companies.

Your Rights

You have the right to access your personal data and know how it is used; request that I update or correct your personal data; or request that your personal data be deleted.

If you have any concerns about how your data is collected, stored or used, please let me know by e-mailing me at any time at clare.jayne@clarejayne.com.
